Yard Signs – Political Mechanics: Episode 1 from Drew Veeneman on Vimeo.
Video Synopsis
-Signs should be simple but they must include three important facts:
- the candidate’s name
- the office that the candidate is running for
- and the candidate’s party affiliation.
-Be sure to check political sign regulations for the municipality or district you wish to represent to make sure that you don’t waste money on designs that are not permissible to local laws.
-Find the biggest sign allowed by local laws, and develop as much of them as possible to distribute since regular voters tend to ignore smaller signs.
-Most standard signs are usually 24 inches wide and 18 inches long.
-When developing the sign’s design, make sure:
- To draw as much attention to your name as possible
- To be as simple as possible with your font
- Your last name appears the biggest on your sign. Do not have your first name compromise the size of your last name.
- To create a sign with a strong amount of contrast with your color choices.
- To not forget about a disclosure statement.
