-In Illinois, every voting jurisdiction is broken down into precincts where voters can officially vote.
-Party officials are represented in every level of state government from the county and township level to the precinct level to the state level.
-In Cook County, county committeemen are elected. They then can choose township or precinct committeemen.
-Outside of Cook County, county party chairmen appoint precinct committeemen to vacant precincts.
